Coordinates Collections: Robyn's Frosty Porch Reveal

Robyn square_2There's finally a bit chill in the air - well, okay, so it's in the 50's. That's actually cold in Texas! So what better time to break my projects using the Frosty Porch kit!

When I saw this kit, I knew it was perfect for the photos I took during the one snowy day we had last winter. I took so many photos that day, and they turned out so beautifully that I wanted to keep them big.

Yes, a two-pager was in order.

Snowman-rschaub-700px copy I decided to use the die-cut paper as a mat behind my course of photos, with a few strips of the other patterned papers coming out from the edges. To add a pop of colour and make some continuity across the pages, I pleated a slip of the yellow polka dot paper and then stitched over it with my machine. I created the title block using Spellbinders dies, some alphabet stickers from my cache and the adorable Basic Grey woolie snowman from the kit.

Next, I wanted to complement the colours in this photo I took of my girls (which I'm using as our Christmas card photo this year - it was only too perfect), so I used some of the patterned papers in the add-on and started layering.

Warmingup-rschaub-700px copy The non-traditional winter colors in this course are very fun to go with - especially the yellows and pinks, which worked great with the photo. I topped the accordion flowers with a Jillibean Soup Corrugated Button, which I inked slightly with some white chalk ink. And I couldn't resist adding a bit of bakers twine.

I've been in a card sorta mood lately, and I ever need holiday cards, so I created this Christmas tree by punching borders from the green bookprint paper and inking the edges with the Ranger blending tool (from last month's Just Desserts kit). I added a brown satin ribbon and some pins to stop it off.

Xmascard-rschaub-700px This kit includes an awesome collection of buttons, and the colors reminded me of candy. So I dug this jar stamp out of my cache and created an all-occasion card. The letters are one of the Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type alphabets, which I am now addicted to - thank you very much.

Sweetcard-rschaub-700px I yet get lots of leftovers from this kit, and I live I'll be using bits and pieces of it for a long time. The colours are very versatile and give much of opportunities for mix and matching.

Enjoy the cooler weather, and go get some photos!
