OTTAWA (AP) - David Moss would know to see the Calgary Flames play more frequently in Ottawa.
Moss scored goals 2:23 apart in the moment and Calgary held on to snap afour-game losing streak with a 3-2 victory ended the Senators on Fridaynight.
Ales Kotalik scored a power-play goal late in the bit for the Flames,who were on a 0-2-2 skid. Anton Babchuk assisted on both of Moss'goals.
"It's been nice so far," said Moss, who had the only three-goal game ofhis career at Scotiabank Place two days ago. "I've only played heretwice, a hat trick and so tonight, so it's been a good feeling."
Henrik Karlsson made 32 saves for Calgary, losing his shutout bid on Nick Foligno's goal midway through the third.
Sutter used his timeout after Milan Michalek scored with 57.4 seconds remaining in the 3rd to draw Ottawa within one.
"I believe in the third we sat back a small bit," Moss said. "We knewthey were leaving to construct a crowd but we give to be capable to weather thatbetter."
The Flames, who had a four-game winning streak prior to their skid, haveclaimed 12 of a possible 18 standings points in their last 9 games.Calgary is 14th overall in the Western Conference, eight points behindChicago for the 8th and final playoff spot.
"We've only got to stick with it," said coach Brent Sutter, who recentlysaid he wanted his squad to get four of every six available points.
"That's one of the goals we bear is merely making certain that we do that,and require charge of our short-term goals and not looking at where we'resitting in the standings or what's going on anywhere around us, let'sjust make certain that we need charge of our own business, what we get to doand how we get to play, and the standings will require charge of themselvescome April."
The Senators, who went 0 for 4 on the force play, are 1-5-2 in their final 8 games.
"I thought we played a jolly good game," Michalek said. "We made somemistakes in the bit period and that cost us the game. Going into thethird we were losing 3-0 so it was difficult to come back, but we worked hardand we almost came back."
Brian Elliott, who stopped 23 shots, fell to 0-5-2 in his death seven starts.
Ottawa snapped a six-game skid Thursday night with a 6-4 win in New Yorkover the Islanders as 19-year-old Robin Lehner got the win in his firstNHL start.
Karlsson, a 6-foot-5 Swedish rookie, made his eighth start and secondstraight appearance after relieving Miikka Kiprusoff in Tuesday'sshootout loss in Carolina.
"It's a big win for us," Karlsson said. "I reckon we played very well tonight."
Moss gave Calgary a 1-0 lead with his seventh goal 5:32 into the second.Rene Bourque cut toward the eye from the remaining side and flipped abackhand pass forward as Moss charged the slot to tip the puck pastElliott.
"I was approaching with swiftness and he sort of saw me coming through the neutral zone and he made a large play," Moss said.
The Flames went ahead 2-0 at 7:55 on Moss' second end of the game, a wrist shot for his eighth of the season.
Kotalik made it a three-goal lead when he scored with 16.2 seconds leftin the second, just four seconds after Ottawa's Chris Neil was taggedwith an extra roughing minor for his skirmish with Adam Pardy.
Foligno scored unassisted 9:56 into the third when he snapped a shotpast Karlsson for his seventh goal. He got his second stage of the gamewith an assist on Michalek's goal.
