With the usual idea of knitting being the "wind" that binds these stories together, each author takes this chance to see some of their most popular stories with a poor story that will thrill their fans!
The Twenty-First Wish by Debbie Macomber
Anne Marie Roche and her adopted daughter, ten-year-old Ellen, have each written a number of twenty wishes-on which they included learning to knit. But Ellen has quietly added a twenty-first wish: that her mom will return in bed with Tim, Ellen's birth father, who's recently entered their lives.
Debbie brings back two of her fans' favorite characters from the "Blossom Street" series in this delightful story about a little girl's fondest dream. This is a sweet addition to the "Blossom" stories.
Coming Unraveled by Susan Mallery
When Robyn Mulligan's dreams of becoming a Broadway star give way to longing for her childhood home, she returns to Texas, running her grandmother's knitting store. But the handsome, hot-tempered T. J. Passman isn't making it slowly on her. If he can take to trust Robyn, and defeat his tragic past, they simply might find a love like no other.
I was so tickled to see Susan had written Robyn's story and included it in this trilogy. Her fabulous book, "Already Home," introduced the case of Robyn as a secondary character, and this wonderful story expands on her sprightliness and how she got to her site at the lovely knitting shop in Georgetown, Texas. I hope, hope, hope Susan has plans for a book featuring Robyn and her friends in the future!
Return to Summer Island by Christina Skye
After a devastating car accident, Caro McNeal is welcomed by a community of knitters on Oregon's sleepy Summer Island. She also finds meaning and use in the letters she exchanges with a marine serving in Afghanistan. But when life takes another unexpected turn, will Caro pick up the threads of hope, opening her spirit to wherever it takes her?
Now Christina's story is an original, "one of" story, but it is a truly heartwarming and touching tale that will delight her fans and knitting fans alike!
If you're a fan of knitting, romance, and fun, I warrant that you will enjoy "The Knitting Diaries!"
My thanks to Nancy Berland Public Relations for the review copy of this book. I was not compensated for my opinions.
